Marc Wurzel, Assistant Secretary
Before joining GCP, Mr. Wurzel served in a variety of governmental positions including Special Counsel, Minority Leader of the City Council; Chief of Staff, New York City Department of Consumer Affairs and Department of Finance; and Deputy Director of Communications, New York State Department of Law.
Wurzel served as executive director of the Liberty Avenue Local Development Corporation in South Richmond Hill, Queens in the mid-1980′s. Named to the post at 22, Wurzel was one of the youngest persons to ever run a successful neighborhood revitalization program in New York.
From 2002-03, Wurzel served as a Commissioner on the fifteen member New York City Districting Commission responsible for redrawing the boundaries of the city’s 51 council districts.
Mr. Wurzel earned a B.A from George Washington University and a J.D. from Hofstra University. Wurzel is admitted to practice law in New York, and before the U.S. District Court, Eastern and Southern District of New York.
