This past Thursday night’s Grand Gourmet – The Flavor of Midtown® in Grand Central Terminal’s Vanderbilt Hall was – once again – a huge hit with the over 800 attendees who mingled over the course of the evening while sampling the delicious offerings to be had from over 35 restaurants, food purveyors, mixologists, and beverage suppliers.

All of the remaining delicious food was picked up by City Harvest, meaning even more hungry were fed, in addition to those who will be fed by Grand Central Neighborhood Social Services Corporation out of the proceeds from the event.

Congratulations again to our VIP ticket winners from the Midtown Lunch giveaway – Michael Strauss and Katherine Hartlin Strauss;  and to our Grand Gourmet Prize Package winners: one via Time Out New York – Ben Davey, and one via our own Grand Gourmet Grand Prize Sweepstakes – Janice Kim!

Finally, if you were unable to attend, get an idea of what the event was like by reading reviews from Midtown Lunch and LocalBozo, by perusing the beautiful photos posted on Snap Food, or by watching this short video of the night’s fun!

Last, but certainly not least, a BIG THANK YOU to our event sponsors, partners and participants! Click here to read a special salute to all those who worked so hard to bring Grand Gourmet into existence and who made it the great success it was!

MARK C. GROSSICH, Owner/Chief Executive of Hospitality Holdings and Grand Central Partnership Board Member, will serve as Event Chair for the 2012 edition of Grand Gourmet – The Flavor of Midtown®! Mark has been a vital part of every Grand Gourmet since the event began and his “refreshingly civilized” lounges are represented at the event every year, providing delicious cocktails provided by the talented mixologists of Hospitality Holdings just for our event!

Here’s a sneak peek at one of this year’s new cocktail offerings:

Grand Punch

1 1/2 parts Cockspur
1/4 part Cointreau
3/4 parts fresh lime juice
1/2 part honey syrup
1/2 part pineapple juice

Combine with ice to chill and dilute and pour over ice into cup. Garnish with a lime wheel, and…enjoy!

We’d also like to take this time to acknowledge and thank our beverage sponsors for this year’s event: Beer Table Pantry (Grand Central Terminal, Graybar Passage – 212-922-0008), Cockspur Rum, Joe, Kansas Clean Spirit Whiskey, Vermont Gold, and Wagner Vineyards.

Hospitality Holdings owns and operates six of New York’s most comfortably refined establishments, including The Campbell Apartment, Bookmarks, Madison & Vine, The Empire Room, The World Bar, and The Carnegie Club – where you can time travel to the 60s every Sunday during their Mad Men viewing party.
